I love stories where the main characters have such an intense pull towards each other. Their intense attraction to one another became palpable. My heart hurt a little each time he thought a relationship with Carissa was not possible, he was just so lovely. There's a whole lot of drama with Josh's building company that added further layers to the story and the budding relationship of Josh and Carissa
They're friends so, the 'drama' and reason Josh and Carissa are off limits to each other is a tad unnecessary, if I'm absolutely 100% honest, but at the same time, for some reason, I found it plausible? I believed that the characters believed it, however misguided they were, if that makes sense? For me character motivation and believibility are very important so I did give this aspect of the story some thought. The situation with the ex-boyfriend seemed amicable. I kept having a slight nagging question in my head. Her emotions were slightly contrary at times. They needed to keep things uncomplicated. A secret that could ruin his friendship? Maybe? And Carissa could suffer from small mind mentality? and incredible sexy! It was a refreshing change to read about him, and it helped that he's as sexy as hell!! He wants to do the right thing by everyone.īut Josh has a secret…. Josh has to work for it and this makes us the reader want it even more…. I love her sassy personality, her feistiness. And she believes she SHOULD NOT be fantasizing about Josh!! No! No! No! She tries to do the right thing and avoid situations that will cause unease. or risk the wrath of their close-knit community.Ĭarissa’s a good girl at heart.
